Celebrity Boot Month (Blonds) - Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sarah Michelle Gellar did as much to popularize knee-high boots as any woman over the last two decades. Sarah Michelle played the title character in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which debuted in 1997. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was the follow-up to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie which starred Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry (Yes, That Luke Perry!), Donald Sutherland and Paul Reubens (PeeWee Herman) in 1992. Kristy Swanson's Buffy didn't wear knee-high boots. She wore sneakers and was an extremely cute cheerleader! Sarah Michelle Geller's Buffy was much smaller and looked very different. But the most important thing is that this new TV Buffy wore knee-high zip-up 2" heel brown boots AND did karate in them!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV show was an unbelievable success. Sarah Michelle Gellar became a Huge star and several other characters on the show went on to have very productive careers as well. Seth Green (The Spy Who Shagged Me), David Boreanaz (Bones), Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother), Eliza Dushku (Doll House), Charisa Carpenter (Angel) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Weeds). Josh Weedon was the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and we owe him our deepest thanks. It is my belief that it was Josh's idea to have Buffy kick ass while wearing knee-high boots and I truly believe that the combination of Sarah Michelle Gellars looks, karate and knee-high boots made the show a hit. Both Alyson Hannigan and Eliza Dushku's TV characters have worn knee-high boots. Knee-high boots on hot women = Success!
Sarah Michelle Gellar has continued to wear knee-high boots in her film career. Below we have some movie set photos of Sarah wearing Christian Louboutin knee-high black boots from Ringer and our all-time favorite Scooby Doo with Sarah playing Daphne and rocking the lavender knee-high go-go boots. We also have some pictures of Sarah Michelle wearing knee high boots around town and some photo shoot pics
